KIZOMBA • SATURDAYS

ALL LEVELS: 6:45PM-7:45PM

Kizomba music was born in Angola in the 80’s following the influences of traditional Semba music (the predecessor of Samba from Brazil), Zouk music and Pasada (Cape Verde) . Kizomba describes both the music and dance styles. Kizomba is an Angolan word which means “party” in the Kimbundu language. What people call Kizomba today is an evolution of the tradional dance Semba. SnowMotion puts an emphasis on sharing the history and culture of Angola, Semba and Kizomba with their students.

Our 60 minute Kizomba classes on Saturdays always begin with a fun, all-levels warm-up. After our muscles are warm and our mindset is hot, our dedicated and prepared instructors will work with you to build your confidence and improve your dancing! You'll have the chance to dance and meet everyone else as we switch partners regularly, while we practice the different steps and movements. Expect the hour to fly by!

After an hour of instruction, our teachers will review all of the evening’s material and allow participants to film the newly learned Kizomba movements.
